Clinical Work
Reconstructive Surgery
Outstanding Work
Throughout his career, Professor Nond has been at the forefront of reconstructive surgery in Thailand, consistently introducing innovative techniques and establishing key institutions. His major contributions include:
- Thailand's second craniofacial surgeon, with the distinction of treating the largest volume of patients with craniofacial deformities in the country.
- Founder and current deputy director of the Princess Sirindhorn Craniofacial Center, the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia.
- The first surgeon in Thailand to introduce the resorbable plate and screw system in 2002.
- A pioneer in using 3D printing technology for plastic surgery as early as 2001, in collaboration with Professor Charan Mahatumarat.
- A leader in modernizing the Thai Cleft Lip-Palate and Craniofacial Association by implementing a comprehensive member database, launching a national resource website, creating innovative academic programs, and authoring the first national guideline for the care of cleft patients (TCCC).
- The first Thai surgeon to be elected President of the Asian Pacific Craniofacial Association, a premier international organization in the field.
Scope of Work
His expertise in reconstructive surgery covers a wide range of conditions and procedures, including:
- Craniofacial deformities (e.g., cleft lip, cleft palate, congenital anomalies, trauma).
- Facial injuries (e.g., complex wounds, fractures).
- Skin cancers (e.g., melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma).
- Breast surgery (e.g., for breast masses, post-cancer reconstruction).
- Ear reconstruction (e.g., after trauma, for microtia).
Cosmetic Surgery
Outstanding Work
In the realm of cosmetic surgery, Professor Nond is celebrated for introducing groundbreaking procedures to Thailand and for his mastery of complex techniques. His notable achievements include:
- A pioneer in introducing endoscopic brow lift and facelift techniques to Thailand, for both aesthetic enhancement and migraine treatment.
- The first surgeon in Thailand to utilize Endotine implants.
To share his expertise, Professor Nond organized a hands-on workshop on Endoscopic Brow Lift at Chulalongkorn University on July 7, 2011. This event, the first plastic surgery hands-on cadaver workshop in Thailand, was a resounding success, with all seats booked within two days. He also took this opportunity to introduce Endotine implants to his surgical colleagues.
- A nationally recognized expert in complex facial bone contouring procedures.
- A pioneer in advanced breast surgery techniques, as the first surgeon in Thailand to perform endoscopic breast augmentation (2003), endoscopic capsule removal, and en-bloc implant removal (2018).

A Civil Servant
Dr. Nond works as a civil servant at the Division of Plastic Surgery, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand's premier medical school. Chulalongkorn Hospital, its affiliated hospital, serves as our primary training facility. Since 1998, Chulalongkorn Hospital has been one of the largest plastic surgery training institutions in the country.
Main Work at Chulalongkorn

In fact, cosmetic surgery is not the only work Dr. Nond does. Dr. Nond initiated the idea that there should be a specialized center for correcting facial and cranial abnormalities at King Memorial Chulalongkorn Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society, since 2000. Initially, there was no such center in Thailand. Dr. Nond proposed this idea to professors at Chulalongkorn and worked to make it a reality. Today, that specialized center is the Princess Sirindhorn Craniofacial Center, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society, the first and most comprehensive center of its kind in Thailand.
Throughout his tenure at the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, Dr. Nond has dedicated his efforts to establishing excellence at the Princess Sirindhorn Craniofacial Center to this day. Dr. Nond set up the operational systems from the start, recruited permanent staff, and implemented modern technologies for management. He formulated patient care policies that encompass physical, mental, and social aspects. He initiated almost all the projects and activities of the center, bringing information technology into public relations, making the Princess Sirindhorn Craniofacial Center widely known. For most of the period after the center's establishment, from 2005-2020, Dr. Nond was the sole plastic surgeon at Chulalongkorn Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society, who treated over 3,000 patients at the Princess Sirindhorn Craniofacial Center, along with other specialists. Since 2020, even with a new craniofacial surgeon joining, he still manages the majority of patients at the Princess Sirindhorn Craniofacial Center. He also initiated the Mobile Clinic Project, an innovative treatment approach caring for these patients nationwide. He started the Craniofacial Fellowship, the first of its kind in Southeast Asia, which continues to attract both Thai and international surgeons for training up to the present day.
As a result of his work at Chulalongkorn Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society, Dr. Nond was elected to serve as the President of the Thai Cleft Lip - Palate and Craniofacial Association for two terms. He was also the first Thai person to hold the highest position in an international craniofacial association, becoming the President of the Asian Pacific Craniofacial Association.
Dual Board Certification
After completing a five-year residency at Chulalongkorn Hospital, Dr. Nond obtained two board certifications from the Medical Council of Thailand: General Surgery and Plastic Surgery. Working alongside esteemed faculty members, including Dr. Thavorn Charoonsmith, Dr. Manas Satienchoak, Dr. Charan Mahatthummarat, Dr. Prayuth Chokrungvaranont, and Dr. Sirachai Jindarak, who were renowned Thai plastic surgeons, laid the foundation for his current success.
Advanced Overseas Training
Later, he went for advanced training as a resident physician abroad at the Australian Craniofacial Unit in Australia with renowned faculty, especially Professor Dr. David J. David, for one year. This was followed by another year of training with Professor Dr. Mutaz Habal at the Tampa Bay Craniofacial Center in Florida, USA.
His overseas training, coupled with his participation in national conferences and cosmetic field, exposed him to cutting-edge surgical techniques, medical devices, and materials not previously available in Thailand, such as endoscopic breast surgery, body contouring, resorbable plates and screws, facial bone distraction devices, endoscopic procedures, and bone cement. This was a golden opportunity in his career.

Dr. Nond is a family doctor
This doesn’t mean family medicine. It refers to Dr. Nond's anesthesiologist friend who regularly administers anesthesia for his patients. He told Dr. Nond that he is a family doctor because his anesthesiologist friend often sees that Dr. Nond's patients come from the same families—parents, children, grandparents—all coming on different occasions after seeing the results in others. So, Dr. Nond earned this nickname without having to further study or pass an exam to gain expertise like in family medicine.
